Inspiring future generations of musicians and performers is one of the most rewarding parts of Jack’s career, with years of experience encouraging all ages, abilities and dispositions from shy four-year-olds and self-conscious teenagers, through to adults and fellow musicians.

As a musical theatre vocal coach, Jack has led classes and workshops around the world, as well as teaching for ArtsEd Extra, Razzamataz, Trinity Youth Theatre, and continuing to work as a freelance musical director across the diploma and degree courses at Urdang Academy.

Jack formerly spent over six years as Music Supervisor and Head of Singing with award-winning youth theatre company The Talentz, where alongside teaching weekly ensemble singing classes, he devised engaging schemes of work for 4 to 21 year olds.

Piano & Music Theory Teacher

Highly sought-after as a piano teacher and music theory teacher, Jack spends three days a week at St Michael’s Prep School in Kent, where alongside peripatetic teaching, he conducts orchestras and ensembles, and acts as the lead piano accompanist.

Jack also teaches privately from his home in Sevenoaks, although owing to his ongoing teaching and performing commitments, has limited availability for weekly lessons – but it’s definitely worth enquiring as slots do open up! Jack also offers one-off lessons for those wishing to troubleshoot a particular problem, brush up on their technique or just check-in with a professional pianist. Jack is very experienced preparing students for music exams of all levels.

Jack is also happy to facilitate online lessons via Zoom. Although, whilst this technology can provide opportunities that might otherwise be missed, in Jack’s experience there is no substitute for the interaction of a face-to-face lesson.
